Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to express about his deep grief.

"Enough time has passed that I can now put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film, adding that he could not remember "one day without mirth".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a distinct essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to prevent the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate issued a restriction on the investigation to restrict the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" associated with the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a record noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Response and Criticism

Following the killings, public personalities offered varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by several individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the critics recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan characterized the comments as "shocking" and remarked they revealed a concerning absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an aide ought to have stepped in when the impulse to speak on the passing was made.
