Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans shared sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
